It’s a case of guilty until proven innocent – the only way for sites to avoid being shut down is for them to fight back through legal means, an expensive and time-consuming process. Why should Canadians care? A Canadian version of SOPA would come next. It’ll be used to “strengthen our relationship” with American politicians, and there’d be little resistance to pass it.

November 27, 2011 - I opened up the JavaScript console in Chrome to see what was causing the problem. This is what came up. Update: Apparently the Storify extension for Chrome was causing the issue. Disable the extension and everything works again.
