February 4, 2012 - I’m reading the latest edition of What Color Is Your Parachute?. One of the first exercises you’re tasked with in WCIYP is to create a list of “what turns you on” in life. I learned that small projects give me energy, I haven’t felt creative freedom since graduating, and this is the year for me to make things happen.

January 24, 2012 - I read a number of great books last year. Four of my favourites are Crossing the Chasm, Good to Great, The E-Myth Revisited, and Tribal Leadership. Each one of these books presents a different scale, or ranking system, that helps leaders evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of their organization. Each one of these books also shares traits with the other three books. With that in mind, I came up with this little diagram.

It made a massive impact on my productivity, and it’s totally applicable to managing social media. Here’s a simplified way of looking at it.
