Along with abandoning WordPress development for the greener pasture of straightforward theme customization, one of my other 2013 resolutions is to read 52 books in 52 weeks.

For any interested parties (hi dad!), I’ll be tracking progress via my Goodreads profile. So far I’ve finished reading Zen and the art of Motorcycle Maintenance and Shadow Rising (Book #4 in The WoT series).

I’d like to complete the rest of The Wheel of Time books by the end of the year. I’ve been told that this is “crazy talk”, but hey, I’ve always been a fast reader. ;)

What colour is my parachute?

I’m reading the latest edition of What Color Is Your Parachute?. One of the first exercises you’re tasked with in WCIYP is to create a list of “what turns you on” in life. I learned that small projects give me energy, I haven’t felt creative freedom since graduating, and this is the year for me to make things happen.

I read a number of great books last year. Four of my favourites are Crossing the Chasm, Good to Great, The E-Myth Revisited, and Tribal Leadership. Each one of these books presents a different scale, or ranking system, that helps leaders evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of their organization. Each one of these books also shares traits with the other three books. With that in mind, I came up with this little diagram.
