Google’s Privacy Policy Update: No Big Deal.

There’s nothing wrong with Google’s updated policy.
It’s not an invasion of privacy. It’s an acknowledgment of changes that have already been made, streamlined into an easier-to-understand document, without all the legalese.

Over the last few years, Google’s services have become more comprehensive.
Google now follows a hub-and-spoke model. We’ve gone from each product being a silo, to each product being a spoke, with your Google account as the hub.

The updated policy says yes, Google services speak to one another!
Ultimately, it’s a better experience for users. Google has just been very clumsy, in the words of Jeff Jarvis, with communicating that point.
