April 23, 2012: Checking In

Woo! It’s been a while since I last made a blog post. Here’s an update on what’s going on in my world:

Jugnoo

I’ve been working with the fine folks at Jugnoo for about a month now. We’re building some awesome products, and it’s a thrill to get to work on WordPress full-time. Diving deeper into advanced WordPress functionality, primarily working with the API, has been a great learning experience. It’s also been a nice change of pace from the type of work I was doing over the previous 3 years.

Toronto WordPress Group

We’ve taken WPToronto.com down for some significant rebuilding. I can’t say much more right now, since we’re still in the planning phase, but you can expect the forums to be removed and our focus to be shifted towards compiling information/resources for local WordPress developers/users/hobbyists (ie., “mashup”).

WordCamp Toronto 2012

We’re also getting ourselves set for WordCamp Toronto 2012 and Developers’ WordCamp Toronto 2012. This two-event approach is a first for any WordCamp, and we’re thrilled to be given the chance to try it out. We’ve taken feedback from 2011 into account for 2012, so it’ll be even bigger and better this time around. :)

I manage the Toronto WordPress Group and WordCamp Toronto. When I'm not focusing on the community, I'm helping clients at Kobayashi Online, a small-business digital marketing company in Toronto. Outside of work, I enjoy meandering about the city, drinking cappuccinos, reading novels, doodling in a sketchbook, and thinking up new pet projects.
