Cooke bringing Cup home – Belleville Intelligencer – Ontario, CA
Stirling native Matt Cooke, who helped the Pittsburgh Penguins capture hockey’s most precious prize in a tough, seven-game battle against the Detroit Red Wings that ended June 12, has told The Intelligencer he plans to bring the cup home and allow local fans a chance to celebrate with him and his family later this summer.
Each player from a Stanley Cup winning team is allowed to bring the trophy to their home region for one day. Cooke said a date has not yet been determined.
Details are vague, but if you’re a hockey fan, this could be a great opportunity to check out the Stanley Cup in person.
